The Perry Center is currently hiring for the position(s) of:

Job Purpose:

The Program Manager is a licensed social worker who is responsible for supporting, encouraging, and equipping the women we serve in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Board of Trustees and Executive Director. Additional responsibilities include handling intakes as well as counseling opportunities over the phone. The Program Manager will report to the Executive Director and is responsible for assisting the Executive Director and aid in developing the maternity home program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Manager is responsible for:

  • Individual meetings with each resident to help her in her decision making, planning for her future, and overall well-being.

  • Formulating a case plan for each resident within 30 days of placement and update as necessary.

  • Weekly reviews with staff of each woman's status, progress, and family situation.

  • Maintenance and upkeep of each woman's file. Sign all reports and counseling notes. Files must have the following information for licensor. Case records, liaison with community referral resources and families, case plan and follow up, support person system/parenting skills, education, recreational activities and discharge planning.

  • Assigning a mentor to each woman. Work with volunteers.

  • The development and facilitation of programming which would include classes.

  • Establish and maintain working relationships between social services and other resource agencies available to residents and their children.

  • Attend staff meetings and organization events.

  • Complete the Abortion Alternative Grant on a monthly basis.



  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work with a current LSW.


  • Any combination of training, experience education that provides required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Two to five years of experience working with single mothers and/or youth.

Personal Characteristics

  • Should possess the personal characteristics generally recognized as essential for public employees, including, integrity, initiative, emotional maturity, dependability, courtesy, good judgement, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Believe that life begins at conception and that for an unplanned pregnancy, abortion, is never an option.

  • Have a neutral stance on adoption vs. raising a child in their attitudes concerning unplanned pregnancy, while maintaining a pro-life belief.

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, attend church on a regular basis, and be comfortable in teaching and sharing their faith with others.

  • Be capable of providing leadership and spiritual guidance to the young women according to their specific need.

Working Conditions

  • The Program Manager works in office and case plan environments both on and off site.

Hours and Salary:

This is a full-time position and may require some weekend and evening assignments. Salary is experience based, Paid-Time-Off and SIMPLE IRA.
