Job Purpose: 

The Maintenance Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for maintaining ministry buildings and property upkeep in accordance with the strategic directions set by the Board of Trustees and Executive Director. 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lawn care, which includes mowing, trimming, edging, and turf repair. 

  • Snow removal prior to 7:30 a.m.

  • Weeding and caring for landscape on the ministry property.

  • Receiving and responding to reports of mechanical or other maintenance issues.

  • Maintaining the fire, carbon monoxide, smoke, and other safety systems.

  • Light repairs and replacements throughout the ministry buildings.

  • Coordinate larger repairs with the appropriate vendors.

  • Direct volunteer groups on maintenance projects. 

  • Coordinate maintenance for ministry vehicles and machinery. 

  • Inspect buildings and property for failures and report to the Executive Director. 

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree

  • Should possess the personal characteristics generally recognized as essential for public employees, including integrity, initiative, emotional maturity, dependability, courtesy, good judgment, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Believe that life begins at conception and that for an unplanned pregnancy, abortion, is never an option.

  • Have a neutral stance on adoption vs. raising a child in their attitudes concerning unplanned pregnancy, while maintaining a pro-life belief.

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, attend church on a regular basis, and be comfortable in teaching and sharing their faith with others.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Broad technical knowledge.

  • Attention to detail. 

  • Physical ability. 

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills. 

 

Experience

  • Proven maintenance experience. 

  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

  • Experience performing routine maintenance .

  • Operating a lawn tractor with snow removal attachments. 

Working Conditions: 
The Maintenance Manager works indoors and outdoors and has a small shop on The Perry Center property. 

Hours/Salary

  • This is a part-time position (15 hours/week) with flexible hours and may require early mornings, later evenings, and weekends. Salary is experienced-based.
